​Beginning Treble Chorus (9th-11th)

Beginning Treble Choir is designed for the 9th grade or beginning treble voice. The choir sings some music in 2-part harmony and unison, but mainly in 3-part harmony. The ensemble will study aspects of various types of music, as well as vocal and musical development, with an emphasis on sight-reading. This is a non-auditioned ensemble. Public performances are expected. This course should be taken both semesters

Intermediate Treble Chorus (10th-12th)

Intermediate Treble Chorus engages the intermediate treble voice in challenging 3- and 4-part music. The ensemble sings music from each musical style and period in 3-part and 4-part harmony The class emphasizes independent and accompanied and a cappella singing along with sight-reading. This is a non-auditioned ensemble. Public performances are expected. This course should be taken in both semesters.

 

Tenor Bass Chorus (9th-12th)

Tenor Bass Chorus engages the beginning to advanced tenor-bass voice in 2-part, 3-part and 4-part harmony, but mainly in 3-part harmony. The ensemble sings music from each musical style and period in 3-part and 4-part harmony The class emphasizes independent and accompanied and a cappella singing along with sight-reading. This is a non-auditioned ensemble. Public performances are expected. This course should be taken in both semesters

 

Vocal Ensemble (10th-12th)

Vocal Ensemble is an auditioned advanced treble chorus that engages the beginning to advanced tenor-bass voice in 2-part, 3-part and 4-part harmony, but mainly in 3-part harmony. The ensemble sings music from each musical style and period in 3-part and 4-part harmony The class emphasizes independent and accompanied and a cappella singing along with sight-reading. Public performances are expected. This course should be taken in both semesters

 

Chamber Choir is a small advanced women’s ensemble whose members are also members of the Concert Choir. The main focus of the class is vocal jazz, with excursions into all other musical style periods. An emphasis is placed on independent and a cappella singing. There is a significant time commitment with after school rehearsals and evening performances, especially during the holiday season.

Honors Mixed Chorus (Seniors only) 

  • This course will include individual concepts of vocal production as well as choral techniques appropriate for a large ensemble.
  • A wide repertoire of choral music and experiences will be used for the development of comprehensive musicianship.
  • Public musical performances will be expected.
  • This course should be taken both semesters.​
